Education, Training, and Teaching

Dr. Amin completed his medical school training in 2004 and anesthesiology residency in 2008 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He finished his pain medicine fellowship at the leading program in the country at the University of Washington in Seattle the following year.

While in medical school and during his residency, Dr. Amin worked on several research projects, medical publications, and presentations for professional organizations.

Dr. Amin has presented at various medical conferences, including:

  • Western Anesthesia Residents Conference (WARC)
  • American Society of Anesthesiologists National Meeting

Dr. Amin has experience treating pain from many different sources. Following his residency, he worked in the Department of Veterans Affairs at the University of Florida, where he learned to treat pain from almost every cause imaginable.

Using his extensive experience with pain medicine, Dr. Amin works with his patients to devise an effective plan they are fully on board with.

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Amin specializes in therapies that help treat pain at its source. He provides targeted therapies to those who struggle with fibromyalgia, occipital neuralgia, shingles, neuropathy, and more. He also has experience treating chronic pain caused by damage to joints, muscles, and nerves. In addition, Dr. Amin is skilled in the administration of BOTOX® to relieve migraines.

Recognition, Societies, and Affiliations

In addition to his academic accolades, Dr. Amin is well-respected by his peers in the medical field. Fellow medical providers elected him to leadership positions in conferences and residency programs on two separate occasions.

House Officer Voting Member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee

Dr. Amin was elected to this post by the residents of every residency program at the Medical College of Georgia. Over 20 residents were in the running for the position, and he was elected to be the resident representative for the Graduate Medical Education Committee.

Operative Room Institutional Committee

This committee was selected by a vote of the Anesthesiology Department attendees. Dr. Amin was selected as the resident representative in 2007 and 2008.
